Ostrander, Kosenski shine at Dartmouth

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. – The Bryant University men's swimming and women's swimming and diving teams fell to the University of Massachusetts and Dartmouth College at the Dartmouth Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Junior Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.) and senior Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.)led the Bulldogs in the two-day invitational. Ostrander won the 50 free and 100 back, finished second in the 200 back and finished fifth in the 100 fly. Kosenski won the 100 free, finished fourth in the 50 free, second in the 200 free and finished fifth in the 500 free.

Other top-10 finishers included Taylor DeBever in the 50 free, Steven Sinclair and John Lawson in the 400 IM, Logan Hammerstein in the 100 fly, Brianne DwyerMolly SmithAshley AthertonGraham Beck and Konrad Lech in the 100 breast, DeBever in the 100 back, Lawson and Cameron Hessler in the 200 back, DeBever and Nicholas Karadimas in the 100 free andAbby WhittakerSamantha Hilton, Beck and Lech in the 200 breast.

The Bulldogs also received a strong performance from the women's 200 medley relay team of Ostrander, Dwyer, Mara Valenzuela and DeBever. The quartet finished second with a time of 1:52.00.

The Black and Gold return to the Chace Athletic Center for their final home meet, and final regular season meet, of the year on Saturday, Feb. 4 against Holy Cross. Prior to the meet, the Bulldogs will honor eight seniors competing in the final home meet of their careers.
