SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University volleyball team will continue a four-game home stint this weekend against a pair of Northeast Conference opponents, hosting Sacred Heart and St. Francis (NY) in a pair of conference matches.

Looking to build off a sweep of Quinnipiac University on Wednesday, Sept. 28, the Bulldogs (6-11, 1-2 NEC) will first square off against the Pioneers (11-4, 2-0 NEC) on Saturday, Oct. 1 (1 p.m.) before battling the Terriers (1-17, 0-3) the following afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs will be looking to avenge their most recent loss, as the Pioneers came away with a 3-2 home victory on Sunday Sept, 25.  In that match, senior Jazmin Stoner (Durango, Colo.) led the squad with 13kills while junior Jadith Lorenzo (Lawrence, Mass.) posted 36 assists along with seven digs and one ace. Sacred Heart saw four players record 10 or more kills in the match, with Kimmee Roleder's 25 leading the way for the home team.  Roleder also served up four aces and added 12 digs to cap the win.

After Saturday's battle, the Black and Gold will welcome St. Francis for the first of two conference matches for a Sunday showdown.  The Terriers have gotten off to a tough start to the 2011 campaign, entering Sunday on a 10-match losing streak, nine of which have been sweeps.  Bryant will also be looking to avenge a pair of losses against their conference foe from 2010, as St. Francis swept the season series, 2-0.

During their last outing, the Terriers were swept by nearby rival Long Island University on Sept. 28, with Kamalei Clifton recording 14 assists during that match.  Marina Georgieva and Naomi Flinders combined for 18 kills in a losing effort.

Next up, the Bulldogs will wrap up their home stand on Wednesday, Oct. 5, when they host Holy Cross for an evening non-league tilt.  Match time is set for 7 p.m.
