Bulldogs continue play against Ivy League, travel to Yale and Dartmouth this weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After a schedule change, the Bryant University field hockey team travels to New Haven to face off against Yale Friday night at 7 p.m. As previously planned, Dartmouth will host the Bulldogs on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Bulldogs (1-5) wrap up their four-game Ivy League series with the Bulldogs (1-2) of Yale University and the Big Green (1-3) of Dartmouth College.

This season the Black and Gold are 0-2 against Ivy League foes, losing at Harvard, 5-2, and Brown, 3-2, in a heartbreaker in overtime (Sept. 12).

Junior Victoria Danby (Lancaster, Mass.) has had the hot stick for Bryant, scoring in the last five games and totalling 14 points off six goals and two assists.

Classmate Erin Karcher (Kennet Square, Pa.) leads the Bulldogs with three assists, inserting the ball on penalty corners on three Bryant scores.

Freshman goalkeeper Marissa Elizardo (North Wales, Pa.) continues to protect the net for the Bulldogs, defending 18 attempts in the last four matches.  

Yale keeper Emilie Katz has started all three games, raking in 21 saves off 25 opponent tries. The Bulldogs are led offensively by sophomore Carol Middough with six points off three goals. As a team, Yale has placed 12 of 17 shots on frame.

Junior goalie Paige Duffy has recorded 29 saves in the Big Green's first four games. Dartmouth midfielder Rebecca Hu leads the Big Green with two goals and one assist, totaling five points on the season. In four matches, Dartmouth has fired off 28 of 56 shots on goal.
