Men's Lacrosse Pair Named All-American for 2008

SMITHFIELD, RI Bryant Universitys Andrew Hennessey (Wading River, NY) and Matt Murnane (Rockville Centre, NY) were named to the 2008 United States Intercollegiate Coaches Association (USILA) All-America team after leading the Bulldogs to their best season in school history.
Men's Lacrosse Sets Sights On Division I

They've made their mark in Division II, now they're sights are on something bigger. The Bryant University men's lacrosse team, fresh off its record setting 14 win season and Northeast-10 Conference Championship, is ready to begin play in Division I starting this fall. Instead of competing against the likes of Assumption, Franklin Pierce, Merrimack and Le Moyne, the Bulldogs will be competing against the best the lacrosse world has to offer in Virginia, Army, Princeton and Brown among many others in the coming season.
Northeast Conference Announces Formation of Men's Lacrosse League

Somerset, NJ Northeast Conference (NEC) Commissioner Brenda Weare is pleased to announce the establishment of the NEC Men's Lacrosse League. With its inaugural season of 2010-11 on the horizon, the newly-forming men's lacrosse conference will encompass six schools, five of which are core members of the Northeast Conference currently competing in other Division I men's lacrosse leagues with the other being new NEC member Bryant, which will officially join the lacrosse league in 2010-11.
Men's Lacrosse Ends Its Season in NCAA Semifinals

SYRACUSE, NY Too many mistakes and turnovers proved costly as the second-ranked Bryant University mens lacrosse team dropped an 11-2 loss to Le Moyne College in the NCAA Division II semifinals here Saturday. Bryant ends its season with a 14-4 overall record and the highest ranking in school history. In just two short years, Bryant has won two Northeast-10 Conference titles and advanced to the NCAA tournament under coach Mike Pressler. The Bulldogs will begin Division I play next year.
Men's Lacrosse Travels to Le Moyne for NCAA Semifinals Saturday

The second-ranked Bryant University mens lacrosse team will open NCAA tournament play for the first time in the programs history when the second-ranked Bulldogs travel to Syracuse, NY to face top-ranked and defending national champion Le Moyne in the national semifinals on Saturday, May 17 (1 p.m). The winner of the game will advance to the NCAA Championship May 25 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Limestone will meet in the other semifinal.

SOUTH EASTON, MA - Bryant University junior Alex Pfau (Bel Air, Md.) has been named to the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Team the league announced this week. Pfau and the Bulldogs captured the Northeast-10 Conference tournament championship and will compete in the NCAA tournament next week at Le Moyne.

EASTON, MA Bryant University freshman men's lacrosse standout Gary Crowley (Scituate, MA) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Year in 2008 the league announced this week. Bryant, the Northeast-10 Conference Champions, placed two players on the first team all-conference list with Jim Long (Durham, NH) and Matt Murnane (Rockville Centre, NY) leading the way.

Lax News just released it's national rankings with the Bulldogs taking the top spot thanks to its 5-4 win over the previous No. 1 Le Moyne in Sunday's Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

INDIANAPOLIS-The NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Committee has selected the teams that will compete in the 2008 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Bulldogs of Bryant University (14-3), champions of the Northeast-10 Conference, will travel to Le Moyne (14-1) on May 17 or May 18 for a semifinal matchup with the winner advancing to the national championship May 25 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Bryant, under the direction of second year coach Mike Pressler, will be making its first NCAA tournament appearance. The Bulldogs have posted two wins over the Dolphins in the past two seasons including a 5-4 win Sunday in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship in Syracuse, NY. The win ended Le Moyne's 25-game winning streak. Last year, Bryant defeated Le Moyne ending the Dolphins 72-game win streak.

SMITHFIELD, RI - A few weeks ago Connor Hayes caught a glimpse of what the upcoming NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships at Gillette Stadium over the Memorial Day weekend might be like. Hayes, the former Mansfield High record-setting attackman, is now whirling his lacrosse stick as a member of the Bryant College Bulldogs, ranked No. 3 nationally. "My parents, a lot of my friends were there, I remember looking up in the stands," related Hayes after practice Monday of that meeting with Merrimack in early April before several thousand fans assembled for a doubleheader. "The atmosphere, being in the stadium and out on the field looking up, it was awesome and to think we might be able to be there again in a few weeks, that would really be awesome," beamed Hayes. Bryant could certainly be in Foxboro May 24-26 among the field assembled for the NCAA Division II Final Four, in addition to the very best of the collegiate Division I and III teams.

Bryan Kaufmann (Putnam Valley, NY), Gary Crowley (Scituate, MA) and Ryan Tibbitts (Watervliet, NY) had four goals apiece as third-ranked Bryant University overpowered visiting Southern New Hampshire 24-7 in the regular-season finale. Bryant will take a nine-game win streak into next Fridays Northeast-10 Conference semifinal to be played at Bryant (12-3) starting at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs will be the No. 2 seed of tournament and will receive a first round bye.
Men's Lacrosse Moves Up To No. 3 National Ranking - Highest Ever For Bulldogs

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University men's lacrosse team moved up to No. 3 in this week's USILA Coaches' Poll. The ranking surpasses last year's high of No. 4 as the Bulldogs take a 11-3 overall record into this Saturday's regular-season finale against Southern New Hampshire at Bulldog Stadium (1 pm). Bryant is currently second in the conference standings with NE-10 quarterfinals action set to begin next Tuesday, April 29. The top two teams will earn a bye and host a semifinal game on Friday, May 2.
