Golf Alums Support the Boulet Scholarship Fund

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - It's been nearly four since the passing of Bryant's legendary golf coach Archie Boulet. After serving as the men's golf coach and professor in the Bryant Science Department for 47 years, Boulet retired from coaching in 2011 after leading Bryant to 31 NCAA tournament appearances, 20 conference championships and 11 New England Championships. 

Boulet, who passed away in 2018, was selected into eight Halls of Fames, including the Bryant University, University of Rhode Island, and the National Golf Coaches Association of America. A total of 23 Bryant golfers earned All-America honors, seven were named New England Players of the Year, and 24 have become either head golf pros or assistant professionals at golf courses throughout New England. 

Several of those former standout golfers and alumni from the eighties recently reunited for a round of golf at Ellington Ridge Golf Course in Ellington, Connecticut, including Jim Devlin '88, Gary Young '88, John Delbonis '88, Frank Clark '88, Dave French '89, Dr Kris Kennedy, Mike Diani '87, Dave Olender '90, John Rainone '88, Mario Solari '85, Rob McNeil '88 and Mike McKenna '86. 

They were joined by Boulet's wife, Dr. Kristen Kennedy, reliving the countless stories and great memories of man who was not only a tremendous coach and visionary, but someone who played an integral part in their lives as student-athletes at Bryant and in their careers following graduation. 

A donation by the group was made in support of Bryant's Arthur "Archie" Boulet Endowed Scholarship Fund, established in 2012 in honor to the legacy of an individual who touched the lives of so many.
