Bryant’s Borden Takes Part in McLendon Foundation Leadership Weekend

SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University Athletics Marketing Assistant Kobe Borden was one of 40 future leaders to take part in the 2022 McLendon Foundation Leadership Weekend in Kansas, September 8-11.

The McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative (MLI), administered by the National Athletic Collegiate Directors of America (NACDA) provides minorities access and opportunity through its scholarship program and leadership initiative.

The leadership weekend helped provide scholars and future leaders the opportunity to engage in educational sessions and presentations by several leaders, including Eric Wise, global manager of Adidas Basketball, David Cummings, Senior Director of Race & Culture at CBS Sports, and keynote speaker, Maria Taylor from NBC Sports.

A native of New York, NY, Borden joined the Bryant Athletics Department in August assisting with the sports marketing, ticketing and event operations for Bulldog Athletics.

A 2021 graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in financial economics, Borden interned with CBRE, Interpublic, JPE Morgan Chase, and Ernst Young.
