Bio

Mark Madigan was promoted to Assistant Director of Sports Performance in December of 2023. He was initially hired as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach in September 2022. He directs all sports performance training for men's and women's lacrosse, volleyball, and field hockey. Madigan assists with the day-to-day operations of the sports performance department, serving as the internship supervisor and directing all sports science initiatives.

Before coming to Smithfield, Madigan spent two years as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Lincoln Memorial University (TN). He also spent time as an assistant at Webber International University (FL), and he completed internships at Southern New Hampshire University, the University of Florida, and Plymouth State University during his time as an undergraduate. Madigan graduated from Plymouth State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Physiology and completed a Master of Business Administration with a sports management concentration from Lincoln Memorial University in 2023.  

Madigan is certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC), and National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS). He also holds other certifications including USA Weightlifting (USAW L1), Functional Range Conditioning (FRCms), EXOS Performance Specialist (XPS), Reflexive Performance Reset (RPR L2), USTFCCCA Track and Field Strength and Conditioning Specialist (TFA310), and American Red Cross (First Aid/CPR/AED).
