BRYANT MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SWIMMING GIVES ASSIST TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men’s and women’s swimming teams took a break from training last January to lend a hand with the Rhode Island Special Olympics.
The teams completed four clinics with the RI Special Olympics, covering basic swimming skills and techniques and swimming strategy as the Rhode Island team prepared for the regional competition held recently at the University of Rhode Island.
The clinic was held at the Chace Athletic Center Pool on the campus Bryant University in mid January and included more close to 15 individuals preparing for the upcoming regional competition.
Special Olympics Rhode Island provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than 2,700 children and adults with intellectual disabilities throughout Rhode Island. For more information and to support the Special Olympics Rhode Island, please visit www.specialolympicsri.org
