Bryant Honors Ralph Catuogno For More than 40 Years of Service

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - If you have ever been to a basketball game at the Chace Athletic Center at Bryant University, you've probably run into the man simply known by everyone as "Ralph."  Ever since the building was built (1971), Ralph Catuogno has been a presence at each and every game, running the game clock for both the Bryant men's and women's basketball games as well as a host of other interscholastic events the gym has played host to.

However, this will be the last go-around for Ralph, who will be hanging up his trademark baseball cap for the final time after this season and opt for a much-deserved retirement.

A resident of Smithfield, Ralph served as a basketball official for many years, working games throughout New England and at Madison Square Garden. Following a successful run as an official, he continued to work closely with the local college teams serving as the time keeper at most Providence College and Brown University basketball games, in addition to his dedication to games at Bryant.

For his hard work and volunteerism in the local community, Ralph was inducted into the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) Hall of Fame as well as the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in Kingston, R.I.  For many years, he has organized the girls summer basketball league in Smithfield and for his contributions, the basketball courts at McCabe School are known as the "Ralph Catuogno Courts."
