47 student-athletes tabbed to NEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University winter sports programs saw 47 student-athletes named to the 2013-14 Northeast Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, eight of whom also earned NEC Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinctions.

The NEC Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above, with 424 winter student-athletes qualifying for the distinction in 2013-14. Of those student-athletes, 121 were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, an accolade that recognizes those who have maintained a GPA of 3.75 or above.

Six members of the Bulldog women’s indoor track & field team – senior Eimear Black, junior Brooke Tomasetti, freshman Rebecca Nunez and sophomores Staci Rezendes, Brittany Sarza and Jocelyn Davies – were tabbed for the top honor roll, while male counterpart Alexander Evans also landed himself on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Rookie Morgan Olander completes Bryant’s Commissioner’s list qualifiers and represents women’s basketball on the prestigious roll call.

Men’s indoor track & field leads the pack for NEC Academic Honor Roll members, placing 19 on the list. Women’s indoor track & field added 11, while women’s swimming and diving saw 10 make the grade. Women’s basketball (5) and men’s basketball (1) round out the group for the Bulldogs.
