Bryant Baseball Wins Fifth Straight 6-2 over AIC
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Bryant baseball team remained hot, winning its fifth straight conference game 6-2 over American International Thursday afternoon.
Eric Polvani (Wallingford, CT) picked up his third victory of the season with 3 2/3 innings of no-hit relief. Polvani relieved starter Luke Cowan (Atlanta, GA) who gave up one run in 4 1/3 innings.
CF Nick Campbell (Raynham, Mass.) led the way offensively getting four hits in five at-bats and scoring two runs.
The Bulldogs broke the game open in the seventh scoring four times, capped off with a bases-clearing triple by RF Taylor Ferguson (Charlton, Mass.) that scored SS Pat McKenna (Orange, CT), Campbell, and DH Jeff Vigurs (South Windsor, CT).
Ferguson finished with three RBIs, two hits and a run scored.
Adam Vuolo (Walpole, Mass.) closed out the game, pitching the ninth, but not before seeing four runners reach base and one run cross the plate.
The Bulldogs (12-9, 5-0 NE-10) will host Assumption Friday (3:30 p.m.).
