Baseball Splits Pair of Games at Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Bryant baseball team capped off its 12-game, nine day roadtrip splitting a pair of games at Limestone College. The Bulldogs won the first game 17-13 and lost the second half 8-4 to the Saints.

The Bulldogs took advantage of a seven-run third inning, en route to their fifth straight victory in the first game.

Mike Rocco, Jason Alexander, and Nick Campbell each had three hits to lead the way at the plate as Bryant pounded out 18 hits.

Dan Lozeau got the start on the hill but surrendered eight runs over two innings. Eric Polvani (1-0) threw six innings of relief, scattering five runs while striking out three and earned his first victory of the season.

Every Bryant starter had at least a hit, while Taylor Ferguson, Mark Dondero, and Alexander each scored three runs.

Luke Cowan got the start in the second game and gave up six runs in 3.1 innings, while seeing his record fall to 1-2 on the season.

Pat McKenna was 3-for-3 at the plate, while Ferguson added two hits, a double and triple in the losing cause.

A six-run fourth inning by the Saints snapped Bryant's five-game winning streak.

The Bulldogs (5-7) will take on Limestone in the rubber match Sunday (1 p.m.).
