Bryant Baseball Loses to Barton College 10-7

WILSON, N.C. - The Bryant baseball team dropped its second straight game 10-7, to Barton College Thursday night in North Carolina.

The win was the seventh straight for Barton, also called the Bulldogs, improving their record to 16-16 overall.

The Bulldogs grabbed the early lead, 3-2 in the third but fell behind quickly 5-3 forcing starting pitch Dan Lozeau (Pelham, NH) out of the game after just 3+ innings.

1B Mike Rocco (Tewksbury, MA) delievered a two-run homer to tie the game at five, but Barton responded scoring on three unearned runs in the bottom half of the fifth off of Chris Foundas (Needham, MA).

T.J. Magnell (Leominster, MA) added two hits and two RBIs, while SS Pat McKenna (Orange, CT) added two singles. Nick Campbell (Raynham, MA) launched his first collegiate homer in the losing cause.

Rocco finished the game with four hits, two singles, a double, and a homer, while driving home four runs.

Trailing by three in the ninth, Bryant got the tying run to the plate but could not finish the comeback effort.

The Bulldogs (7-9) continue their road trip Friday, opening a three-game series in two days against Wilmington (2 p.m.).
