LIVE STATS / BRYANT UPDATED STATISTICS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team returns to action this weekend with a four-game series at Mount St. Mary’s starting on Friday at 3 p.m.  The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday starting at noon before concluding the weekend series with a single game Sunday starting at 1 p.m.

Bryant (13-16, 5-3) is currently in second-place in the Northeast Conference standings heading into the series.  The Bulldogs took three of four against Central Connecticut last weekend and will look to rebound from Wednesday’s 11-10 non-conference loss at the University of Rhode Island.

Mount St. Mary’s (12-17, 7-5) currently sits third in the league standings.  The Mount dropped three of four at Monmouth last weekend in West Long Branch, N.J. and fell to Georgetown, 8-7 on the road Wednesday.  Josh Winter is currently 13th in the NEC with a .345 batting average coming into the weekend.  The Mount also boast two of the top pitchers in the league in Kent Worthington who is 2-1 with a league-best 2.43 ERA while Mike Matta is next with a 2.70 ERA, just ahead of Bryant’s Eric Polvani (Wallingford, Conn.) who sits third with a 3.32 ERA and leads the NEC with 50 strikeouts this year.

Bryant is led by freshman Kevin Brown (Northborough, Mass.) who is in the top-15 in the league standings with a .342 batting average.  Brown leads the league with 41 hits, 13 doubles and 71 total bases. He is currently seventh in the conference with a .595 slugging percentage.

Teammates Nick Campbell (Raynham, Mass.), Jeff Vigurs (South Windsor, Conn.) and Dylan Stone (Portsmouth, R.I.) are tied for sixth in the conference with 35 hits apiece while Vigurs is tied for sixth with 21 RBIs.
