BRYANT BASEBALL OCTOBER SCOUT DAY MOVED TO OCT. 25

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Due to inclement weather, Bryant University baseball's annual October Scout Day has been moved to Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009.

This one-day event will take place on the campus of Bryant University at the Bryant Baseball Complex in Smithfield, R.I. and will begin with registration from 8-8:30 a.m. The event will start at 8:45 a.m.

The scout day is intended for high school age players who have an interest in playing at the collegiate level. The goal of the event is to get each player instruction and give him a chance to showcase his skill to the coaches in attendance.

The day will be divided into position-specific drill stations and game situations. Space will be limited to ensure that each player gets maximum instruction and game action. The event will be staffed by Bryant coaches and players, along with coaches from colleges around the New England area. Last year's staff members included coaches from Boston College, UConn, URI, Northeastern, UMass-Lowell, Southern Connecticut, Tufts, Wheaton and Worcester State, among others.
