LISANTI NAMED PRIMETIME PERFORMER BY COLLEGE BASEBALL 360

College Baseball 360 Primetime Performers Week #12

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After putting together his most successful appearance of the season last Friday against Monmouth, junior Salvatore Lisanti (Bronx, N.Y.) was recognized as a Primetime Performer by College Baseball 360 on Tuesday.

The Primetime Performer awards program seeks to recognize players based on more than simple raw stats, instead taking into account quality of opponent, contribution to team success and various situational factors (such as clutch play, all-around performance, leadership, adversity overcome, etc.).

The first Bulldog to be ever recognized by CB360, Lisanti registered his most impressive outing of the year in the most crucial game of the season to date. After the Black and Gold tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the ninth, Lisanti was summoned in the bottom of the ninth to keep the game tied. Lisanti did his job for four innings and eventually earned his second win of the season when the Bulldogs scored in the top of the 12th inning. The right-hander allowed just one hit and walked one in the longest outing of his season, working out of jams in both the 10th and 11th innings.

On the season, Lisanti has appeared in a league-high 23 games, tossing 32 1/3 innings. He has posted a 2-3 record with seven saves and posted a 1.67 ERA. Lisanti has not allowed a run over his last five appearances (eight innings) and hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 10 outings spanning 15 1/3 innings.

The Bulldogs wrap up their season this weekend with a four-game series against Wagner. If the Bulldogs win the series they will claim at least a share of their second Northeast Conference regular-season championship in three years.
