Kelich selected for NEIBA All-Star Game

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Following a superb junior season in which he was named the Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Year, right-hander Peter Kelich (Jackson, N.J.) has been selected to play in the 38th Annual NEIBA All-Star game on Monday, June 4 at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass.

Kelich is one of four first team pitchers on the University Division Team that will face the College Division (DII and DIII) All-Stars. It is the second time in Kelich's three-year career that he has earned a spot in the game. He was selected to play in the game following a nine-win freshman campaign.

This season, Kelich went 8-3 with a 1.81 ERA and became just the fifth pitcher in program history to record as many as 20 wins in a career. He threw 94 1/3 innings, striking out 74 and walking only 26. Against NEC opponents, Kelich was 6-1 with a 1.57 ERA and tossed complete-game shutouts against LIU Brooklyn and Sacred Heart. His outing against the Pioneers might have been his best of the season as he allowed just three hits in the blanking. Kelich was also a three-time recipient of the NEC Pitcher of the Week honor. In three years, Kelich is 23-7 and needs just four wins to become Bryant's career wins leader.

The NEIBA All-Star game will begin at 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be $5.
