Bulldogs in top college summer leagues
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – With the summer upon us, several members of the 2012 Bryant University baseball team are competing in some of the best collegiate summer leagues in the country, including the Cape Cod Baseball League and the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
A total of 15 players are competing in summer leagues up and down the east coast, improving their game in hopes of leading the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament in their first year of eligibility next spring.
Junior outfielder Kevin Brown (Northborough, Mass.) and sophomore pitcher Craig Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.) are both temporary contract players in the Cape Cod League. Brown is with Orleans and Schiltter is with Falmouth. The Bulldogs also have three players competing in the NECBL, three in the PGCBL, two in the Atlantic Collegiate League and one each in the Valley League, New York Collegiate Baseball League, Atlantic Baseball Confederation and the Futures League.
