BULLDOGS-BUCKEYES MEET FOR THREE THIS WEEKEND

GAME NOTES

LEADING OFF
The Bulldogs wrap up their eight-game spring break trip with a three-game series against Big Ten member Ohio State. Bryant will face the Buckeyes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Ohio State will be meeting for the first time in program history. Head coach Steve Owens has some history with the Buckeyes, however, as his 2007 Le Moyne College team played Ohio State in the NCAA regional tournament at College Station, Texas. The Buckeyes eliminated the Dolphins with a 6-5 ten-inning victory.

SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES
The Buckeyes enter the weekend series with a 10-5 record. Ohio State will be playing its first home game after playing the first 15 games in Florida and South Carolina. This past week, the Buckeyes played five games in S.C., posting  a 4-1 record with victories over Harvard, Ball State, Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern. Ohio State is hitting .281 as a team with Joe Ciamacco leading the way with a .395 average. Jacob Bosiokovic has hit three home runs and driven in 13. This weekend's starters -- Jaron Long, Brad Goldberg and Brian King -- have combined to win six of the Buckeyes' 10 games this year. Trace Dempsey has already appeared in eight games, recording five saves.

LACOSSE OFF TO STRONG START
Sophomore Trevor Lacosse has shown no signs of a sophomore slump in 2013. After making 22 appearances as a freshman, Lacosse has already appeared in five of Bryant's first 12 games this season. On Saturday, he tossed 1.2 innings of scoreless relief in game one of a doubleheader against Dayton. He didn't allow a hit and struck out three batters. On the season, he has allowed just an unearned run over seven innings along with eight strikeouts and just two walks.

MICHAUD FOLLOWS SUIT WITH TUESDAY START
Senior Joe Michaud continued Bryant's stretch of outstanding pitching on Tuesday. In his second start of the year, Michaud went seven innings, allowing just an unearned run in a 1-0 loss. He retired 11-of-12 at one point and finished with five strikeouts.

ANDERSON FINDING STROKE AT THE PLATE
Sophomore Carl Anderson is starting to heat up at the plate for the Black and Gold. With a bunt single on Tuesday against Xavier, Anderson has now collected a hit in each of the last seven games. The seven-game streak is a career high for Anderson who's longest streak was three games last season. Over the last seven games, Anderson is hitting .333 (8-24) with three RBI and three run scored.

HAYWARD PICKS UP SAVE AT DAYTON
Redshirt junior Vaughn Hayward picked up his first save with the Bulldogs in game two of the doubleheader with Dayton last weekend. Hayward entered in the eighth inning of a 2-1 game and was able to work out of bases-loaded jam and then struck out a pair in a scoreless ninth to close the door.
