Baseball season right around the corner; 2018 Prospectus released

2018 Bryant Baseball Prospectus

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball season gets underway on Feb. 16 when the Bulldogs head to Tucson, Arizona, for a three-game series against four-time national champion Arizona.

Bryant enters the 2018 season with a great deal of excitement surrounding the program as seven position starters and all but one pitcher return from a team that captured a sixth-straight Northeast Conference Regular-Season title in 2017.

That list of returners includes NEC Player of the Year senior Mickey Gasper (Merrimack, N.H.), NEC Pitcher of the Year junior Steve Theetge (Syracuse, N.Y.) and NEC Rookie of the Year sophomore Jimmy Titus (Stafford, Conn.).

Head coach Steve Owens begins his eighth season in Smithfield and has helped the Bulldogs become the top team in the Northeast. Bryant has won 255 games in the last seven seasons, more than any other program in the region.

And with the 2018 season right around the corner, BryantBulldogs.com will preview the upcoming year with positional previews starting on Sunday, Feb. 11 with the catchers.
