Ciliento earns National Player of the Week honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball junior James Ciliento (Mahwah, N.J.) was named a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Player of the Week on Monday.

Ciliento becomes the third different Bulldog to earn the honor this season, joining Jimmy Titus (Stafford, Conn.) and Ryan Ward (Millbury, Mass.).

In five games last week, Ciliento went 10-for-24 (.417) with four home runs, 12 RBI and seven runs scored. Ciliento opened the week with two home runs and five RBI in an offensive slugfest against URI. He followed that with three hits at Quinnipiac before going hitless in the series opener at CCSU. Ciliento quickly bounced back, homering in both games of Friday's doubleheader to become just the fourth player in DI program history to hit 10+ home runs in a single season.
