Mattison ranked among top 100 college prospects

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball right-hander Tyler Mattison has been ranked one of the nation's top 100 college prospects by D1Baseball.com.

Mattison was ranked No. 90 on D1Baseball's list, the only player from the Northeast Conference and just one of five players from New England schools listed.

The 6-4, 235-pound Mattison is 6-2 with a 2.50 ERA in eight starts this year. Mattison has struck out 60 and walked just five in 50.1 innings, ranking in the top five nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio. He's allowed two runs or less in six of his eight starts and has struck out 10+ batters in each of his last two outings. Mattison struck out a program-record 15 batters on Apr. 10 vs FDU and followed that up with 12 more in a complete-game effort against Central Connecticut last Friday.

With the victory on Friday, Mattison became just the sixth pitcher in DI program history to win 20 games. He is 20-8 in his career and has struck out 198 batters in 202.2 innings.

Bryant returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Army at Conaty Park. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
