McGill earns All-America honors from NCBWA, Baseball America

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball first baseman Liam McGill picked up a pair of All-America honors on Wednesday, garnering third team honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Baseball America.

McGill has now earned All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the NCBWA and Baseball America. He becomes just the second Bulldog to earn the recognition from the NCBWA and the first Bulldog to ever receive All-America laurels from Baseball America. McGill joins James Karinchak (2016) and Ryan Ward (2018) as the only Bulldogs to earn All-America honors from three different outlets.

The 2021 Northeast Conference Player of the Year and Triple Crown winner, McGill hit .471 with nine home runs and 50 RBI. He currently leads the nation in hitting and OBP (.541), and ranks in the top 10 nationally in hits per game (4th, 1.76), RBI/game (6th, 1.35) and slugging (9th, .746). McGill would be the first player in program history to lead the nation in hitting and would be the first player from a New England school since 2008.
