Gould signs pro contract with Missoula PaddleHeads

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University baseball graduate student Kevin Gould has signed a professional contract with the Missoula PaddleHeads of the Pioneer League.

Gould was one of the top relief pitchers in New England in his lone season with the Black and Gold after transferring from Endicott College. He appeared in 16 games, making his lone start in the Northeast Conference Championship. Gould went 3-1 with four saves and a 2.03 ERA in 31.0 innings.

Gould, however, was not your prototypical closer. He pitched more than an inning in nine of his 16 appearances, including 5.1 innings of dominant relief against High Point in his first appearance as a Bulldog. He followed that up with 3.0 scoreless innings vs Kennesaw State and finished the year by allowing runs in just three of his 15 relief appearances. In the NEC Championship, Gould made his first start and struck out six over 4.0 innings of one-run ball.

The 2021 season put the finishing touches on an outstanding collegiate career for Gould. In five seasons with Endicott, Gould went 14-4 in 24 starts (30 appearances) over 141.2 innings. He struck out 135 and finished with a 2.54 ERA, the fourth-lowest in Endicott program history.

Missoula is a member of the Pioneer League, an independent league that is designated as an MLB Partner League.
