Bryant tabbed first in NEC Preseason poll

SOMERSET, N.J. -- The Bryant University baseball team has been picked first in the Northeast Conference Preseason poll released on Friday afternoon. 

Bryant received five of a possible eight first-place votes in the poll. Central Connecticut grabbed two first-place votes and Sacred Heart earned the final first-place vote. Long Island, Wagner, Merrimack, Mount St. Mary's and Fairleigh Dickinson round out the poll.

The Black and Gold have won nine-straight NEC Regular-Season titles, the longest streak in any sport in league history. Bryant won 27 games a season ago, advancing to the championship round of the NEC Tournament. The Bulldogs return All-NEC First Team selections Jake Gustin and Derek Smith, and All-NEC Second Team selection Damaurys Rodriguez

Bryant opens the 2022 season on Feb. 18 at East Carolina.
