Key Moment

How it Happened

  • Boston College plated two runs in the first to take an early lead. Two singles and a walk loaded the bases for the Eagles. Rafe Chaumette then hit a hard ground ball up the middle that Gustin knocked down but couldn't control. One run scored on the play and a second runner was cut down at the plate. The umpire, however, ruled that the plate was blocked illegally and ruled the runner safe.
  • It remained 2-0 until the sixth as John MacDonald, Liam LeVangie and Jackson Harrigan held BC at bay. MacDonald tossed a scoreless 2nd, LeVangie struck out three over 2.0 scoreless and Harrigan induced a double play in the fifth.
  • Bryant got on the board in the sixth with back-to-back doubles from Gustin and Lane in the sixth. The Black and Gold had a chance for more but stranded two.
  • BC quickly responded, taking a 3-1 lead with an RBI double in the sixth. In the seventh, the Eagles scored a pair of runs to make it 5-1. Cameron Leary and Daniel Baruch picked up RBI singles.
