Phinney named NEC Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. -- Bryant University baseball sophomore Jackson Phinney was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Phinney earns the honor after hitting three home runs and driving in seven in a series sweep of Central Connecticut. He homered in the eighth inning of game one and then hit two home runs on Sunday. His second home run was a seventh-inning grand slam that gave Bryant a 7-6 lead. 

In addition, Shane Kelly, Derek Smith and Brett Wichrowski earned #NECPrimePerformer honors. Kelly drove in six runs in three games, Smith finished the CCSU series by reaching safely in his final nine at-bats and Wichrowski tossed 6.0 scoreless on Saturday.
