Bulldogs fall to High Point on Sunday

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Bryant University baseball team fell to High Point, 10-5, on Sunday afternoon at Williard Stadium.

Bryant dropped all three games to High Point on the weekend. The Bulldogs will travel to Virginia Tech next weekend for a three-game set.

Caden Dulin had two hits and two RBI, while Jake Gustin also drove in a pair of runs for the Black and Gold.

How it Happened

  • High Point grabbed a 1-0 lead on an RBI double in the third.
  • The Panthers extended their lead with five runs in the fourth. A throwing error on a bunt brought home the first run and a two-run triple made it 4-0. A pair of RBI singles capped the inning.
  • Bryant got two runs back in fifth. Brian Schaub doubled to start the inning and a pair of walks loaded the bases. Dulin then brought home two with a double down the left field line.
  • High Point answered with a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning.
  • Bryant made a push in the top of the seventh, plating three runs. James Myler legged out a double to start the rally and a walk and infield error loaded the bases. A wild pitch plated the first run and Gustin plated two with a single to center. The Bulldogs would bring the tying run to the plate but were unable to capitalize further.
  • The Panthers tacked on runs in the seventh and eighth to make it 10-5.
