SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team opens an eight-game homestand on Friday afternoon when it welcomes UMBC to Conaty Park for an America East weekend series.

• Bryant enters the weekend at 13-15 overall and 4-5 in America East play. Bryant has lost its last two America East series, falling to Binghamton and UMass Lowell.
• The Bulldogs will be playing at Conaty Park for just the fourth time this season. Bryant is currently tied for third nationally for the fewest home games.
• Derek Smith has hit safely in nine-straight games, recording multiple hits in eight of those. He's hitting .345 with eight doubles and five home runs. 
• John Hosmer leads the team with eight home runs and 22 RBI. He also has nine doubles. 
• Jake Gustin is hitting .318 with a .427 OBP.
