BOSTON -- The Bryant University baseball team placed four players on the America East All-Conference teams announced on Tuesday by the league office.

Senior Derek Smith was named to the America East First Team, while senior Jake Gustin and junior Brett Wichrowski were named to the second team. Freshman Zac Zyons was named to the America East All-Rookie team.

Smith picks up all-conference first team honors for the second time in his career after earning first team honors in the NEC in 2021. He's enjoying a career year this spring, hitting a career-high .323 while setting career-highs in hits (64), doubles (15), home runs (10) and RBI (44). Smith ranks first among America East outfielders in RBI, second in doubles, first in home runs and first in total bases. He posted 17 multiple-hit games and 14 multi-RBI games.

Gustin earns all-conference honors for the third-straight season, having put together the best season of his career. He has set career-highs in hits (71), doubles (16), triples (4), home runs (8), RBI (46) and runs scored (52). Gustin finished the regular season as the league-leader in hits, while also ranking fourth in doubles, fourth in RBI and fourth in runs scored. He has posted a team-high 20 multi-hit games and has collected 14 multi-RBI games. Gustin had a pair of long on-base streaks during the year, including a 26-game streak that came to a close last week.

Wichrowski earns all-conference honors for the first time in his career, posting a 5-3 record and a 4.50 ERA. He ranks sixth in the America East in ERA, sixth in wins and eighth in strikeouts (64). Wichrowski started the year in the bullpen but entered the starting rotation midway through the year. His best start of the year to date came against UMBC, in which he struck out a career-high nine over 5.0 scoreless.

Zyons picks up all-rookie honors after emerging as a super utility player for the Black and Gold. He has started eight games in right, seven at third, five in center, four at short and two in left. Zyons is hitting .305 with five doubles, three triples, four home runs, 20 RBI and 35 runs scored. He enters the AE Tournament hitting .410 with four doubles, two triples, three home runs, 17 RBI and 26 runs scored in his last 16 games.
