Bulldogs fall to Maryland in series opener

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Brandyn Durand collected a pair of hits and scored all three runs as the Bryant University baseball team fell to the University of Maryland, 8-3, on Friday afternoon at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium.

Bryant falls to 1-5 following the loss. The Bulldogs and Terrapins meet again on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

The Terrapins did all of their damage in the first five innings, scoring in each inning. 0

Durand paced the offense with two hits, a home run and three runs scored. Shea Grady added two hits and Carmine Petosa reached three times with two walks and a hit by pitch.

Tyler Tornberg, Bradley Lewis and Jack Pletter combined to limit Maryland to three hits over the final 3.2 innings.
