Bulldogs fall to Northeastern, 5-4, on walk-off single
BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Bryant baseball team fell to Northeastern on a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth on Wednesday at Friedman Diamond.
Bryant grabbed a 4-0 lead early but the Huskies tied the game thanks to three home runs and then won the game in the bottom of the ninth.

How it Happened
- Bryant jumped out to a 4-0 lead on second-inning grand slam from Zac Zyons. Two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases for Zyons who laced a 1-2 pitch over the wall in left field for his first-career grand slam.
- Northeastern would get a run back on a home run from Goodman in the bottom of the second.
- The Huskies would then loaded the bases with one out in the fourth but Bradley Lewis came on and got a strikeout and a fly out to end the threat.
- In the fifth, a two-out tripe by Mike Sirota brought Northeastern within 4-2. The Huskies would eventually load the bases but reliever Mark Scamardella struck out Carmelo Musacchia on a slider to end the threat.
- Northeastern was able to tie the game with a pair of solo home runs in the sixth.
- The Huskies were then able to win the game in the bottom of the ninth. Northeastern loaded the bases with one out before Jared Burrows induced a fly out. Burrows then threw a perfect 1-2 pitch that was ruled outside. On the next pitch, the Northeastern batter hit a hard comebacker that caromed off Burrows and into no mans land, allowing the winning run to score.
