Horvat tosses a CG as Bryant completes sweep of Binghamton
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Tyler Horvat tossed a complete game and Matt Smith posted three hits and three RBI as the Bryant baseball team completed a weekend sweep of Binghamton with a 7-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at Conaty Park.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 22-11 overall and 11-1 in America East play. Bryant is now 17-1 in its last six weekend series and 21-4 in its last 25 games.
Horvat tossed his second complete game of the season on Sunday, limiting the Bearcats to two runs on seven hits. He didn't walk a batter and struck out eight. Horvat is the first Bulldog with multiple nine-inning complete games in one season since 2014.
Smith wrapped up a stellar weekend with his second-straight three-hit game. He finished with three RBI. Zac Zyons (2-4), Gavin Noriega (2-4, HR, 2R) and Carmine Petosa (2-4, 2R) all had two hits, while Jackson Phinney scored three times.
