Wainer named America East Pitcher of the Week

BOSTON -- Bryant baseball senior Austin Wainer was named the America East Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. 

Wainer picks up his second pitcher of the week honor after he twirled a gem in the final start of his career at Conaty Park. The Johns Creek, Ga., native limited UMass Lowell, the top-hitting offense in the America East, to just one run on four hits over a career-high tying 7.0 innings. He walked two and matched his career high with nine strikeouts. 

Wainer is now 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA in five America East starts. He has allowed 23 hits, walked 10 and struck out 26 in 32.0 innings.
