WOMEN’S RUGBY CONTINUES WINNING WAYS

RINDGE, N.H.  This past Friday, October 11th the Bryant University Women’s Rugby team traveled to New Hampshire to face Franklin Pierce University in a late 9 PM match.  

Final Score

  • Bryant University 56 – 0 Franklin Pierce University  

Game Info

  • Nyatasha Jackowicz scored four tries during the match 

  • Senior Devyn Analoro contributed another two tries for the Bulldogs 

  • Julia Cappellini added another try to the Bulldogs’ collection 

  • Sophomore Brenna Rojek added one more try and completed a conversion kick 

  • Senior Courtney Wheeler successfully scored two more tries  

  • Junior Erica Johansson completed the last two conversion kicks for the team  

Highlights

  • Captain Devyn Analoro received an honorable mention from coach Rosie Downey for making amazing runs to push the Bulldogs forward as the scrum half 

  • Senior Nyatasha Jackowicz also received an honorable mention for making tackles everywhere throughout the match, and playing flanker well 

  • Gabrielle Constanzo was named Player of the Match for her presence in every ruck and tackle, pushing the opponents back with ease, and playing as a formidable flanker 

  • Julia Cappellini was named Rookie of the Match for scoring her first try ever, completing amazing tackles, shooting directly into the try zone, and effectively playing wing 

  • The Bulldogs suffered very few injuries and resiliently shook them off as if they were unaffected  

  • Franklin Pierce played strong to begin, but overall the Bulldogs crushed them, rucking every chance they got and pushing them back  

  • The team showed a lot of improvements in their scrums compared to their last match, with players holding their feet and driving forward, leading the Bulldogs to win most of the scrums
