CHEERING TOWARDS DAYTONA, FLORIDA

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University Cheer team has returned to campus early to begin practicing choreography to earn their bid to the annual NCA/NDA National Collegiate Championship competitionThe Cheer and Dance teams had collaborated to earn the title of Game Day Division I National Champions at the 2018/2019 competition in Daytona, Florida this past April.

During their preseason training, the team learned new pyramids, stunts, and cheers to incorporate into their game day routines. The cheerleaders have also restructured their executive board, giving many upperclassmen leadership roles due to their experience winning a national title.

Throughout their preseason, the Cheer team members focused on pushing themselves both individually and together as a team. This placed emphasis on forming bonds and welcoming the new members of the team.

After hours of hard work and tedious practice, the Bryant University Cheer team successfully earned a bid to the National Championship competition occurring in Daytona, Florida on April 2020, competing again in the Game Day Division I category.

On top of this huge accomplishment, the Cheer team gave a phenomenal performance during half time at the Bulldogs’ first home football game on September 14th against Fordham University. Sophomore Sara Clark mentioned that “the freshmen are really stepping up and proving to be a good asset for the team”.

Be sure to look out for the Bryant University Cheer team during their upcoming football game performances and Ring Ceremony on Saturday, September 28th
