MIDNIGHT MADNESS TENNIS TOURNAMENT

BOSTON, M.A. -- On Friday, March, 22nd the Bulldogs took a trip to the Northeastern University campus to take part in Midnight Madness, a tennis tournament fundraiser for Northeastern.  Many different schools took part in the event including Fairfield University, WPI, UVM, and URI. Bryant had seven doubles pairings participate in the tournament and donated a total of $140 to the fundraiser.

Final Scores:

Abby Tesconi (‘22) & Anna Torregrossa (‘21)

  • Lost in semifinals against Northeastern 2-4
  • Won the second round against Northeastern 4-1

Maddie McLaughlin (‘19)  & Jennifer Forte (‘19)

  • Originally up 2-0, but lost due to unforced errors against Northeastern 2-4

Nick Lecours (‘19) & Kenny Pham (‘19)

  • Won first round 4-2 against UVM
  • Lost second round 2-4 against Northeastern

Kaitlin Aucoin (‘20) & Jr. Adam Banspach (‘20)

  • Lost first round against URI 0-4

Caitlin McCosh (‘20) & Cam Germaine (‘21)

  • Lost first round against Brandeis 1-4

Ben Rathe (‘22) & Matt Laboissonniere (‘22)

  • Won first round against SNHU 4-0
  • Lost second round 2-4 against Northeastern

Danny Brown (‘21) & Garrett Alonzo (‘22)

  • Lost first round 3-4 in a tie break (3-5) against URI

Game Info:

  • Had a "by" the first round (didn't have to play the first round)
  • The two had very consistent shots and communicated well with each other

Maddie McLaughlin (‘19)  & Jennifer Forte (‘19)

  • The pair had a "by" the first round

Ben Rathe (‘22) & Matt Laboissonniere (‘22)

  • Both players had consistent shots and great net play throughout their matches

Danny Brown (‘21) & Garrett Alonzo (‘22)

  • The pair were evenly matched throughout the tournament
  • Danny Brown had strong forehands which helped against the tough competition

Comments:

  • “It was a great turn out for the fundraiser and everyone had a fun time.”

  • “Last year, almost none of our teams got past the first round and this year we had almost half our teams make it through.”

Up Next:

  • The Bulldogs will have a busy weekend and will be playing in three tournaments

  • They will be traveling to SNHU for a tournament, then they will be off to Orlando, FL!  The weekend will come to a close at their home courts for another exciting tournament.
