BRYANT BULLDOGS FIRST HOME TOURNAMENT

 
 SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bulldogs hosted their first home tournament of the season on Saturday, October 5th.  There were six teams in attendance and Bryant took on Brandeis University, Quinnipiac University, and Wheaton College.  It was a successful weekend for the Bulldogs who were able to beat two of the three schools they played. 

Final Score 

Match 1: Bryant University vs Brandeis University (16-29) 

  • Women’s Doubles: Anna Torregrossa and Abby Tesconi (4-6) 

  • Men’s Doubles: James Burris and Matt Laboissoneire (6-5) 

  • Women’s Singles: Kaitlin Aucoin (0-6) 

  • Men’s Single: Nate Comment (4-6) 

  • Mixed Doubles: Caitlin McCosh and Justin Elkinson (2-6) 

 

Match 2: Bryant University vs Quinnipiac University 

  • Women’s Doubles: Kaitlin Aucoin and Caitlin McCosh (6-1) 

  • Men’s Doubles: Nate Comment and Matt Laboissonniere (6-3) 

  • Women’s Singles: Anna Torregrossa (6-5) 

  • Men’s Singles: James Burris (6-1) 

  • Mixed Doubles: Abby Tesconi and Justin Elkinson (6-5) 

 

Match 3:  

  • Women’s Doubles: Abby Tesconi and Anna Torregrossa (6-2) 

  • Men’s Doubles: Matt Laboissonniere and Justin Elkinson (6-1) 

  • Women’s Singles: Kaitlin Aucoin (6-5) 

  • Men’s Singles: Nate Comment (6-1) 

  • Mixed Doubles: Caitlin McCosh and James Burris (6-2) 

 

Game Info 

  • Kaitlin Aucoin (’20) fought hard in her singles match against Wheaton College and won in a tie-breaker 

  • James Burris (’20) and Matt Laboissonniere never gave up and were able to win n a tiebreaker against Brandeis University 

 

Highlights 

  • They are roommates and they share the same name, the dynamic duo of Caitlin McCosh (’20) and Kaitlin Aucoin (’20) played hard together and won their match against Quinnipiac 

  • Anna Torregrossa (’21) played her first singles match in three years and won in a tie-breaker! 

  • James Burris (’20) was undefeated in his first tournament of the season
