BULLDOGS CRAZE PLACED 1ST AND GOT 2ND AT REGIONALS CONFERENCE

Smithfield, RI- On Saturday, 10/23 the Bulldogs were at home to face four different teams @9:00 AM at Bryant University’s Sutton Field.

Final Score: 

  • Bryant 13 Roger Williams 5
  • Bryant 10 Rogers Williams 6
  • Bryant 13 Worcester Polytechnic Institute 8
  • Bryant 13 Amherst 2

Game Info: 

Bryant faced four different teams to go 4-0 in the South New England D-III Conference Championships.

Bryant was able to comfortably beat Roger Williams 13-5 in their first match of the day while also getting quality playing time for their younger players. Ben Dodge ended up with the most points scored (3) while Jacob Roy led the team in assists (3).

Williams gave Bryant their toughest competition they would see for the rest of the day, but Bryant squeezed past with a 10-6 win. Jacob Roy, Jacob Fontes, and Dylan Coppinger led the scoring with 2 points scored each. Ryan Donovan led the team in assists with 5.

Bryant once again had an easier matchup against WPI where they were able to play more of their inexperienced players and won 13-8. Jacob Rich led the team in points scored with 3. Ryan Donovan and Dom Cincotti led the team in assists with 2 each.

Lastly, Bryant faced the #2 seeded Amherst to end off the day with a 13-2 win. Cole Mazzaferro and Alexander Leduc led the team in goals scored with 3 each, Ryan Donovan had 3 assists, and Jacob Rich had a rarely seen Callahan.  This is when the opposing offense throws a pass to a defender when backed up in their end zone.

It was a great tournament with lots of alumni showing that they aren't washed yet; as well as the current players showing they can compete with the best.

Overall, a very strong and efficient performance from every player on the team.
