As a freshman: Recorded a promising rookie season, appearing in all 20 contests while earning a start on the road against Dartmouth on Sept. 12... Dished out an assist in the regular-season finale in a 3-2 double-overtime win over league foe Sacred Heart on the road.

Before Bryant: A 2010 graduate of Gorham High School, Ballantyne was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Rams field hockey team... Led team to the Western Maine Championship title as a freshman in 2006... Three-time all-state selection (2007-2009)... Named an All-SMAA choice as a sophomore, junior and senior... As a senior, broke the Gorham school record for career assists... Team went an impressive 63-7-1 over four seasons... Also lettered in varsity basketball for three years and varsity track & field as a freshman and sophomore... Member of the 2006 state champion 4x100 relay team.

Personal: Daughter of Jean and Bruce Ballantyne, Kayleigh Ballantyne was born January 12, 1992... Has one sister, Keegan, and one brother, Kendrick, who played college football at the UMaine and Northeastern before playing for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL from 2005-07.
