SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University field hockey team has announced the dates for its spring and summer 2012 camps and clinics.
Guided by head coach Shaunessy Saucier and assistant coach Lauren Sickel, the program will host a spring clinic on April 1, 2012. Four single-day clinics will be held throughout May, June and July (see dates below) before the Bulldog Preseason Mini Camp from July 13-15.
The Bulldog Mini Camp is open to players of age 10 and older and is designed to get players ready for the season. Players join Bryant University coaches and athletics for a fun and energetic camp experience that will improve their fundamental skills while developing their tactical game shape with optimal strength and conditioning sessions (morning and/or night) as well as competitive gameplay every evening. There will also be informational sessions about student-athlete nutrition and how to eat right for optimal performance.
The program will sponsor one-day camps on May 20; June 2; June 29 and July 28. There will also be a two-day team clinic that will be held from Aug. 4-5.
The spring clinic will offer two sessions that will be geared toward middle school, high school and club players only, and will provide skills session and 7-v-7 games. The Bulldog Challenge will host both an Under-19 and Under-17 division and will include a championship match in each division. There will also be a brief clinic at the start of the day.
