Lyons joins Bulldog coaching staff

Bryant University head coach Shaunessy Saucier is pleased to announce the addition of former UNH standout Kyle Lyons to the Bulldog field hockey coaching staff.

Lyons, a 2012 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, joins the staff as an assistant coach beginning this fall. A four-year defender and three-year starter for the Wildcats, she was a two-time America East First Team selection and all-tournament team pick. An NFHCA Second Team All-American as a senior, Lyons was recognized with back-to-back all-region honors in 2010 and 2011. She earned an ECAC First Team All-Star selection following a stellar senior campaign, where she was also selected to play in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game.

Throughout her career in Durham, Lyons appeared in 78 contests with 62 starts and tallied 22 goals and 58 total points in leading the Wildcats to four-consecutive postseason berths, including three trips to the America East Championship. In 2011, Lyons took her team all the way to the NCAA tournament after earning an automatic berth with a 4-2 win over Boston University to win the program's first America East Tournament title since 1998.

Lyons arrives in Smithfield with four years of coaching experience with teams throughout the Northeast. Currently the U19 head coach with Seacoast United Field Hockey Club, she has coached within the Futures Field Hockey organization and has been on the sidelines at numerous regional camps, including the UNH Field Hockey Camp, Dartmouth College Peak Field Hockey Camp, Syracuse Field Hockey Camp and the Saint Michael's College Field Hockey Camp.

A White River Junction, Vt., native, Lyons graduated from UNH with a degree in psychology.
