Field hockey earns NFHCA Collegiate National Academic distinction

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Coming off its second Division I postseason appearance in program history this fall, the Bryant University field hockey team was named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Collegiate National Academic Team for its continued dedication in the classroom, announced the NFCA Tuesday.

Bryant was one of 72 Division I institutions that achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year. 

In addition to the team award, eight student-athletes on the Bulldog field hockey team were named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Collegiate National Academic Squad. Senior Olivia Jankins (West Brookfield, Mass.), junior Emily Clark (Vienna, Va.), sophomores Michelle Fallon (Pompton Plains, N.J.) and Mikayla Fitzmaurice (Skowhegan, Maine), and freshmen Emiko Barker (Hatfield, Mass.), Elena Borovskis (Pequannock, N.J.), Erin Karcher (Kennet Square, Pa.), and Samantha Yoder (Mount Joy, Pa.) all achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year. Additionally, Jankins was one of 97 recipients who earned the distinction in all four seasons as a student-athlete.
