Prince selected to participate in Women's National Championship

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University field hockey assistant coach Hannah Prince was selected to participate in the in the United States Women's National Field Hockey Championship in Lancaster, Pa, from June 15-21.

Prince, a standout defensive midfielder at UMass Amherst from 2010-2013, enjoyed a career year as a senior starting 24 games while tallying 28 points on eight goals and 12 assists, along with four defensive saves. After previously playing with the 2013 Junior World Cup United States U-21 National Team and the U-21 Women's National Championship team, Prince will have the opportunity to play with and against some of the best field hockey players in the country later this month.

The annual Women's National Championship features the most elite athletes in the country, including top collegiate players, current National Team members and members of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Women's Field Hockey Team. Athletes train at High Performance sites throughout the country in the hopes of being named to the Women's National Championship squad for their region. The six regional squads then face off in June for the prestigious title of national champion. The Women's National Championship also serves as the selection trials for the U.S. Women's National Squad.

Prince will enter her first season on the Bulldog field hockey coaching staff this fall as she hopes to help lead the Black and Gold back to the postseason for the second-straight season.
