Hannah Prince named to Women’s Field Hockey National Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University athletic department and field hockey team are pleased to congratulate assistant coach Hannah Prince, who was one of just 30 women from across the country named to the 2014-15 Women's Field Hockey National Team, announced USA field hockey Wednesday afternoon.

Prince, who has been at Bryant since the beginning of June, was a four-year starting defender/midfielder at UMass Amherst and helped lead the Minutewomen to three NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances during her four-year collegiate career.

"We are very proud of Hannah as she embarks on the next chapter of her already impressive field hockey career," said Bryant head field hockey coach Shaunessy Saucier. "We are saddened to see her leave Bryant, but are so thrilled she has made the Women's National Team Roster at such an exciting time in USA Field Hockey after the team's fantastic finish this month at the World Cup.

"Hannah made an immediate impact on our program in just a small amount of time, and we are grateful for her passion, enthusiasm and support of our program and University.  As an assistant she has all of the intangibles you want in working with a team, and those will serve her well with her next venture.  USA Field Hockey is very lucky to have such an incredibly hard worker and a team player who is so passionate about our sport and eager to learn.  We will be following Hannah's career very closely and look forward to continuing to work with her in the future."
