Bulldogs are in the hunt for a win against the Bears on Saturday at noon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University field hockey squad returns to Goldberger Family Field to take on Brown University on Saturday at noon.

Due to the renovation of Bryant's turf field and track, the Bulldogs (1-4) will play their second match of the season on Brown's campus. The familiarity could play in the Bulldogs' favor, since the team spent preseason training at the facility, as well as producing their first win onsite.

The Bears (1-1) return to the East Side after a two-game road trip for the AU Tournament, defeating Appalachian State and falling to American University.

Defenseman Katarina Angus leads the Bears with three points off of one score and one assist. Forward Katherine Kallergis and midfielder Alexis Miller have each tallied two points from their respective goals.

Freshman goalie Katie Hammaker has recorded ten saves in the first two games of the season for the Bears.

In the opposing cage, Bulldogs' freshman keeper Marissa Elizardo (North Wales, Pa.) received the start in the last three matches, gathering 11 saves.

Junior Victoria Danby (Lancaster, Mass.) has been a force in the offense for the Bulldogs, finding the back of the net five times, while also dishing out an assist. A score in this match would mark the fifth game in a row that Danby has placed one between the pipes.

Senior Bronwyn Walton (North Vancouver, B.C.) has notched a pair of scores for the Black and Gold and recorded a helper against Colgate (Sept. 5).

The game begins Saturday at noon and fans can watch the live broadcast at ivyleaguedigitalnetwork.com and follow along with live stats at bryantbulldogs.com.
