Danby and Karcher named to Second Team All-MAAC

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After finishing third in scoring in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, junior Victoria Danby (Lancaster, Mass.), alongside classmate midfielder Erin Karcher (Kennet Square, Pa.) of the Bryant University field hockey team earned Second Team All-MAAC honors.

Danby finished the season with 26 points off 12 goals and two assists in her 19 starts for the Black and Gold. Her 12 goals are tied for the second most in a single season in Bryant DI history, while her 26 points are the third most in a single season. The forward targeted 32 of 57 shots on goal, placing her third in shots per game, with an average of 3.

Karcher logged five points from five assists, including the game-winning helper in the 1-0 win over Sacred Heart on Oct. 18. The midfielder inserted the ball on the team's 94 penalty corners, finding all her assists off the set plays. Karcher placed four of 10 shots on frame in her 19 starts for the Bulldogs.
