Bulldogs finalize class of 2020, add four new members to the 2016 roster

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University field hockey program and head coach Shaunessy Saucier are pleased to announce the Class of 2020.

Miranda Grundy | GK | 5-8 | Smithfield, R.I. | Smithfield

Four-year varsity goalie and two-year varsity softball athlete … Helped lead her team to RIIL Division II runner-ups as a freshman and state champions as a sophomore … Her success helped the program transition into Division I, where the team finished sixth in the state her junior and senior seasons, respectively … Selected to compete in the RI All-Star game for two-straight years (2014-15) … Received First Team All-Division, First Team All-State, All-Academic and Team MVP honors as a senior … National Honors Society Member, Spanish National Honors Society Member and High-Honor Roll student.

Personal: Daughter of John and Mary Grundy, Miranda Grundy was born on July 28, 1998. She has one brother Benjamin Grundy.

Clare Luttrell | F | 5-8 | Freehold, N.J. | Freehold

Four-year varsity forward, midfielder and defender and three-year varsity track & field athlete … As a freshman forward, helped her team to a New Jersey B-North Division Championship … As a sophomore midfielder and defender led her team to a Central Jersey Group Four State Sectional Championship victory… Became A-North Division Champions as a junior and senior, respectively … Dubbed Second Team All-Conference, First Team All-Division and First Team All-District as a junior … Named to the Third Team All-State Group 3, Second Team All-Conference and First Team All-District teams as a senior (2015) … Italian Honor Society member and Honor Roll student.

Personal: Daughter of Jim and Christine Luttrell, Clare Luttrell was born on Sept. 12, 1998 … She has two sisters, Allison and Kerry.

Floor van Dommelen | D | 5-5 | Berg en Dal, Gelderland, Netherlands | Stedelijk Gymnasium Nijmegen

Four-year varsity defender and two-year tennis athlete at Stedelijk Gymnasium Nijmegen … Played three years with the elite club team at NMHC Nijmegem, which currently ranks first in the highest division in Holland hockey.

Personal: Daughter of Marcel van Dommelen and Anja Meulenbroeks, Floor van Dommelen was born on March 11, 1998. She has one sister Pleun.

Freya Ward | M | 5-2 | Haywards Heath, West Sussex, England | Burgess Hill Girls

Four-year varsity midfielder at Burgess Hill Girls … Helped her team to league runner-ups as a sophomore, before becoming league champions and Sussex Cup Champions as a junior … Has currently contributed to her team's first place standing in her senior season …Four-time County and Southern Region Representation and National Hockey Trials …  Also a member of the East Grinstead Hockey Club.

Personal: Daughter of Malcolm and Heather Ward, Freya Ward was born on August 4, 1997 … She has one brother Harvey Ward.
