Bulldogs face Dartmouth on Friday and Pacific on Saturday in Hanover

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Facing a double-header weekend, the Bryant University field hockey team travels to the Granite State to take on Dartmouth on Friday, September 9, at 2 p.m. and Pacific on the following day at 2 p.m.

The Bulldogs are coming off their second-straight one-goal loss, falling most recently to Yale, 2-1, in overtime in Bryant's 2016 home opener. Freshman Floor van Dommelen (Berg en Dal, Netherlands) scored the Bulldogs' lone goal, marking the first of her career and first of the team's this season.

Last year, Dartmouth defeated Bryant, 3-2, with back-to-back Bryant goals from now senior Victoria Danby (Lancaster, Mass.). The Big Green enter this year's matchup at 0-2 with losses to Albany and Maine.

Senior forward Heather Zezzo and classmate midfielder Joanne Nazareth both lead Dartmouth with four points; Zezzo off two goals and Nazareth off one goal and two assists. The Big Green have started both freshman Emma Plumb and sophomore Hailey Valerio in the cage with both seeing time in the first two games of the season. Plumb has compiled 14 saves with four goals against her, while Valerio totals nine saves and six goals against.

The Bulldogs opened their 2015 campaign against Pacific, losing, 4-0, in Stockton, Calif., in their first-ever Division I matchup. The Tigers have begun their 2016 slate at 0-2, falling to No. 3 Connecticut and most recently to Kent St.

Sophomore forward Marguerite van Wyk leads the unit with four points off one goal and two assists, while junior forward Alicia Muinos has notched one apiece for three points through the first two games. Senior Laura Pujade has logged the majority of time in goal, collecting 12 saves, while letting up eight goals for an 0-2 start.
