GILBERT, Ariz. – The Bryant University field hockey team had 11 student-athletes named to the Zag Sports / NFHCA National Academic Squad, the association announced on Thursday. To be selected, players must have a 3.30 GPA through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

Bulldogs named to the National Academic Squad include Kathryn Doorley (East Greenwich, R.I.), Grace Farrell (Milford, Pa.), Miranda Grundy (Smithfield, R.I.), Alex Neumann (Auckland, New Zealand), Victoria Newbill (Wilton, Maine), Emily Perryman (Lebanon, N.H.), Keighan Richardson (North Attleboro, Mass.), Lyndsay Swanston (Burlington, Ont.), Floor van Dommelen (Berg en Dal, Netherlands), Freya Ward (West Sussex, England), and Haley Wood (Brownsville, Vt.).

This marks the fourth-consecutive season that Richardson has been named to the National Academic Squad. Farrell, Newbill, Perryman, and Wood have each been named three times, while Grundy and van Dommelen receive their second listing. Doorley, Neumann, Swanston, and Ward each receive the award for the first time.

This is the fourth-consecutive time Bryant has had at least 11 student-athletes named to the Academic Squad. The announcement comes just nine days after Bryant was given the Zag Sports/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.
